About

First and foremost we are a Christian school fellowship under the cover and guidance of a local church. We exist to serve families as they homeschool their children.  We recognize that homeschooling looks much different today than even several years ago and may include traditional stay-at-home students, tutored students, students attending an online school, and now students who attend a combination of home and public school.  Our goal, as best we can, is to support parents and families as they prepare their students to thrive.

As a Christian school fellowship we believe in the widest possible view of the faith, and support The Apostles' Creed as our statement of faith.  The Apostles' Creed goes as follows-

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended to hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father Almighty, From whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The holy catholic church, the communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

If you would like to know more about The Apostles' Creed, and how it reveals God's truth from Scripture in a specific and detailed way we recommend The Apostles' Creed series by Matt Chandler.  The free online videos can be found here.

Lake Martin Christian Academy is organized as a domestic non-profit entity with the State of Alabama.  The link to our registry information can be found here.  We currently have a 6 member director's board each serving a specified term. Since our inception, it is the goal of LMCA to eventually have parents and supporters fulfilling board director positions under the guidance and support of First Baptist Church of Alexander City as our spiritual cover.

We believe, wholeheartedly, in being a Christian education cooperative fellowship, under the authority of Jesus, the guidance of First Baptist Church of Alexander City, governed by parents seeking to serve families, and in conjunction with voices of all parents and families within the LMCA community. We know it is ambitious, but we believe striving for what is right is in the best interest of all supporters, families, parents, and students.
