Remote Learning
Programs

At LMCA we believe parents are responsible before God for the education of our children and that each family's needs are unique.  Our programs and opportunities are designed with that in mind so parents can have an equal balance of stability and flexibility.  As you review our programs and opportunities below please feel free to contact us for further information.

Homeschool Cover Registration is $100 per year for the entire family.  However, families can take advantage of the discounted early enrollment fee of $75 per family by signing up for the school year by September 1st.  This covers minimal administrative costs and an annual subscription to homeschoolreporting.com.  Families who cover with LMCA have access to all outings at only the cost of the outing, numerous fellowship opportunities, curriculum support, and will have an annual letter sent on their behalf to the public school superintendent or local education authority based on your address exempting your student(s) from public school.

School Outings are opportunities to explore education and fellowship beyond traditional education. Examples of school outings include community lunches, service projects, trips to landmarks, out-of-town trips, etc.

Curriculum Support is available to any family involved with LMCA.  You will find a wide array of likes and dislikes when it comes to curriculum.  We do recommend the Ignitia platform for parents who plan to teach but still want to use an online platform. This is what is used in our tutored and pod classes. The current Ignitia curriculum list can be found here.

Tutoring, Learning Pods, College Admissions Counseling, and RTE (Release Time Education) options may be available upon request.

Public School Partnerships for academics and athletics are available to families provided they follow the school, district, state, and AHSAA protocols. In terms of athletics, AHSAA has set forth specific protocols.  The full manual can be found here.  Key phrases and statements from the current AHSAA handbook are listed below-

The AHSAA recognizes a homeschool student as one who is receiving a home-based, parent-directed education in compliance with Alabama law through a home program of a church school, a home program of a private school, or with an Alabama-certified teacher (private tutor).

HSLDA proves great resources for understanding the legal options for homeschooling. You can find more information about legal homeschool options here

All electives must be taken through the school. Only core courses may be accepted from the home school program.

Home School Students (9-12) must: Enroll and attend two electives through the school.

Home School Students (7-8) must: Enroll in one elective through the school.

The information provided about Public School Partnerships is in good faith to help guide parents, but LMCA is not the authority in the matter. If you have questions please contact your local public school athletic director and district administrator for further details.  Additionally, we encourage all families who engage a local public school for athletics or other activities to do so honestly and transparently.  Please know public schools rightfully must ensure participating homeschool students are properly qualified under existing laws and AHSAA rules to ensure continued team eligibility.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
